As a result of this training participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the newest guidelines to prevent perinatal infection
  • Identify and discuss pregnancy options for HIV+/HIV- couples
  • Explain the benefits of HIV testing to pregnant clients or clients wishing to become pregnant
  • Address and discuss substance abuse and HIV treatment with pregnant clients or clients wishing to become pregnant
  • Discuss harm and risk reduction options during conception and pregnancy
  • Identify resources for addressing mother-to-child transmission
