A-TECH for the Technologically Challenged

A how-to guide for using technology to engage youth in HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention.

This curriculum:

  • Provides Positive Youth Development opportunities and helps build leadership skills
  • Engages youth in prevention using their interest and skills in technology
  • Develops social marketing skills to enable youth to positively impact their communities through podcasting, outreach to online social networks, etc.
  • Provides accurate HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention information
  • Assists individuals with developing/enhancing skills related to healthy relationships, communication, self-esteem, decision making, goal setting, and risk and harm reduction
  • Supports treatment and prevention goals
  • Decreases youth risk behavior and increases protective factors

A curriculum to help youth reduce their risks for HIV, STDs, and unplanned pregnancy.

This curriculum:

  • Provides Positive Youth Development opportunities
  • Supplies accurate HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention information
  • Assists individuals with developing/enhancing skills related to healthy
    relationships, communication, self-esteem, decision making, goal-setting, and risk and harm reduction
  • Helps participants learn to effectively change behavior and make healthier life choices
  • Has been proven effective in reducing risks associated with substance use and unprotected sex
  • Enhances and supports treatment goals
  • Decreases youth risk behavior and increases protective factors
  • Meets HIV education mandates
